Mammotion LUBA 2 vs YUKA Mini 2 — Which Mammotion Robot Mower?
Mammotion sells two consumer robot mower lines in the US — LUBA and YUKA. Both are wire-free, both are app-controlled, and both share the brand's premium-tier positioning. Beyond that they're sized for different yards and use different navigation methods. This guide compares the LUBA 2 AWD 5000H and the YUKA Mini 2 1000H — the flagship of each line.

Where the LUBA 2 wins
Coverage and runtime
The LUBA 2 is rated for 5,000 sqm coverage versus the YUKA's 1,000 sqm. For yards larger than 1,200 sqm the YUKA Mini 2 is the wrong tool — coverage rating is a hard ceiling, not a target. The LUBA 2's 180-minute runtime per charge versus the YUKA's 150 minutes is also material at scale; longer cycles mean fewer dock returns per cutting session.
Slope handling
80% versus 45% is a significant gap. The LUBA 2's AWD chassis with a low centre of gravity climbs grades the YUKA's 2WD configuration cannot. Properties with hillside sections, terraces, or ditches need the LUBA 2 even if total area is small. A flat 800 sqm yard with a 50% bank would still need the LUBA 2.
Cutting throughput
15.7" cutting width on the LUBA 2 versus 7.5" on the YUKA means the LUBA 2 finishes a 1,000 sqm yard in roughly half the time of the YUKA, even though both are rated for that area. Faster cuts mean fewer cycles per week and lower per-week battery wear.
Where the YUKA Mini 2 wins
Price
The YUKA Mini 2 sits in a much lower price tier than the LUBA 2. For sub-1,000 sqm flat yards, the YUKA Mini 2 delivers comparable wire-free convenience at a fraction of the LUBA 2's price. Spending the extra on capability you won't use is wasted budget.
LiDAR navigation under canopy
The YUKA Mini 2 uses LiDAR rather than RTK satellite. LiDAR works under tree canopy where RTK signal degrades. For shaded suburban yards with mature trees over more than 30% of the area, the YUKA's navigation method is more reliable than the LUBA 2's RTK + vision stack.
Lower noise
57 dB versus 60 dB is a noticeable difference at close range. The YUKA Mini 2 is among the quieter robot mowers in our spec database; the LUBA 2 sits in the middle of the noise distribution. For HOA-restricted properties or yards near shared bedrooms, the YUKA Mini 2 has the edge.
Lighter, easier to handle
The YUKA Mini 2 weighs 10.6 kg. The LUBA 2 is heavier (Mammotion does not publish an exact figure but it sits in the 16+ kg range). For owners who lift the unit for storage, transport between properties, or seasonal indoor stowage, the YUKA's lighter chassis is materially easier to handle.
Decision matrix
| Your yard / situation | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sub-1,000 sqm, flat, open sky | YUKA Mini 2 | Cheapest fit; coverage and slope rating sufficient |
| Sub-1,000 sqm, heavy tree canopy | YUKA Mini 2 | LiDAR works under canopy; RTK does not |
| 1,000–5,000 sqm, any slope | LUBA 2 | Only Mammotion option in this coverage tier |
| Steep yard (45%+) at any size | LUBA 2 | YUKA is capped at 45% slope; LUBA 2 reaches 80% |
| Sub-1,000 sqm, HOA noise concerns | YUKA Mini 2 | 57 dB is below most HOA daytime thresholds |
| Need fastest cutting throughput | LUBA 2 | 15.7" cutting width finishes faster regardless of yard size |
What about the LUBA 3?
The LUBA 3 AWD 5000 sits above the LUBA 2 in Mammotion's lineup. It adds a LiDAR layer to the RTK + vision stack, making it Mammotion's first true hybrid navigation platform. Coverage, slope rating, and cutting width are similar to the LUBA 2. The LUBA 3 is the choice for buyers who want LUBA 2 capabilities but with LiDAR's canopy reliability — at a higher price.
